Our Story
About Cold Spring General Store
Cold Spring General Store started in 2014 with a simple idea: bring together the best local makers, small farms, and artisans doing honest, quality work — and give them a home on Main Street. We're housed in a landmark 1897 building in the heart of the historic village of Cold Spring, the kind of space that feels like it's always been a gathering place — because, in a way, it has.
Every item on our shelves is chosen by hand, with a story behind it. We stock home goods, pantry provisions, apparel, books, and more — a modern take on the general stores that once lined Main Streets across America, filled with things worth stopping in for.
Meet Craig (and Hudson)
Craig Muraszewski founded Cold Spring General Store after years as a business consultant, tired of the 45-minute drive Hudson Valley locals had to make just to find good pantry goods and elevated homewares. His dog Hudson usually comes to work with him — unofficial store greeter, official good boy.
As Featured In
We were honored to be featured in Country Living's June–July 2025 issue, in a story spotlighting general store owners redefining in-person retail in the age of online shopping.
We're also proud to have been named Best General Store in Hudson Valley Magazine's Best of Hudson Valley Awards — an honor voted on by the very community we set out to serve.
Growing on Main Street
In 2025, we expanded with The Officer's Quarter, a men's shop at 119 Main Street, bringing the same spirit of thoughtfully curated, honest-made goods to menswear and lifestyle essentials — just a short stroll from our original location.
Come visit us on Main Street — we look forward to meeting you.
